Hi guys my name is Grayson and I’m fundraising for our dear friend Arabella who has just suffered the sudden loss of her camper home, Tina, and barely escaped from a flood with her life.

the night of Jan 8, Arabella and her partner Andréa were camped on a Queensland farm property when a freak flood cause the river to swell by several meters and pull their caravan underwater. Arabella woke up with the camper filling with water and had to swim for shore against a strong current. Her life and the life of her partner were saved by a tarp rope they towed themselves back on.

The flood quickly swept their camper downstream and to save themselves they had to leave behind all their belongings.

Arabella lost her clothing, phone, laptop, and Andréa had several months worth of wages in cash swept away as well. Beyond the practical, Arabella is grieving the loss of collections of letters, photos, notebooks, art, costumes, and gifts from friends that she has treasured from her years in Australia as well as the shock and loss of now being without a home.

the damage this natural disaster has brought to two wonderful people can’t be calculated down to dollars and cents, but anyone who has met them knows that Arabella & Andréa are strong and will find a way to recover. My hope is that this fundraising can help take the financial burden off and allow them to sort out & process the aftermath of this tragedy and find their feet.

most people reading this will know Arabella or Andréa personally through the extended Crunchytown network or met them travelling and it’s my hope that our friendship and solidarity with them can ease their burden even slightly
