Help April Fight Stage 3 Cervical Cancer

Hi, my name is Cilia Golden, and with a heavy heart, I’m reaching out to help someone incredibly dear to my heart—my lifelong best friend, my sister in every way, has just received news no one ever wants to hear.

On June 16th, April was diagnosed with Stage 3 C2 Cervical Cancer.

This diagnosis has shaken all of us to the core. April is a wonderful mother, a loyal friend, a loving daughter, and truly one of the strongest women I know. But now, she’s facing the fight of her life—and she needs our support more than ever.

April is set to begin radiation treatment next month:

5 weeks of external radiation

Followed by 3 weeks of internal radiation

Treatment 5 days a week (Monday-Friday) for 8 straight weeks

Each day, she will need to travel 70 miles each way to her treatment center in Tallahassee. That’s over 5,600 miles of driving in just two months—not to mention the cost of gas, food, co-pays, and other medical expenses. Her boyfriend will also need to take time off work to ensure she never misses a treatment.

As a fellow mom, my heart is absolutely broken for her. I can’t imagine hearing those words or having to summon the strength to keep going while still being a mom, a partner, and a fighter.

That’s why I’ve created this GoFundMe—to try and ease some of the financial burden on April and her family, so they can focus on what really matters, her healing.
