Help Apocalypse Play Perform in the Park

Donation protected

***UPDATE***

Dear friends and supporters,

First of all, we’d like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting last summer’s glorious production of Apocalypse Play in the Park. You may be wondering why on earth your donations have been refunded?! This is an unfortunate error; the result of a glitch in our funding withdrawal set up process. The problem occurred over the Christmas break and sadly we did not catch it in time.

If you are willing and able to resend your donation to this site, we would be eternally grateful. We guarantee that any funds resent will be acknowledged with our personal thanks and withdrawn immediately.  If you are not in a position to do so at this time, we quite understand.

The good news is that the play was a resounding success, and will be remounted and reimagined this coming September. More details soon!

We are Kate Lushington and Natasha Greenblatt, a mother/daughter duo of feminist theatre creators making a play together for performance in a local park. We are thrilled that tickets are absolutely FREE, but unfortunately our costs are not! This is where your support comes in.

Your immediate contribution will go directly to Two Birds Theatre to cover production costs for Apocalypse Play and keep our tickets free of charge. You will be supplementing a small but significant grant awarded by the Ontario Arts Council, and joining the circle of support from our community: Common Boots, b current, and Women & Gender Studies Institute at U of T.

Funds received are directed first towards our incredible intergenerational creative team of artists; their collective ability to make theatrical magic out of thin air is impressive, but we still need to cover hard costs, especially since we’re performing outside of a ‘regular’ theatre venue with no box office sales. We need to raise another $5,000 from personal supporters like you, to break even.

Your generosity means the world to us. No amount is too small – the cost of an indie theatre ticket or even a cup of coffee. And no amount is too large! If by chance we exceed our target, Two Birds Theatre will put the money towards our dream of creating a high quality live stream version of Apocalypse Play, accessible to an audience beyond the park.

We are very grateful for your contribution to our return to live theatre. And we hope to see you at our show!
