                                                                                       HELP ANTHONY’S DREAMS
 

          Hi, my name is Sandra Oliveira, I am Anthony Oliveira’s mom and he’s “My Big Boy” at 20 years old. He was diagnosed with Pierre Robin Syndrome at birth, a congenital condition of facial abnormalities. Then at 39 days old he suffered cardio-respiratory arrest for 30 minutes, due to an obstruction after a tracheostomy, sadly a nurse had not properly cleaned his tracheal tube. This was followed by a diagnosis of Choreoathetoid Cerebral Palsy, and at 12 years old he suffered a retinal detachment and was diagnosed with a rare disease Stickler Syndrome (progressive arthro-ophthalmopathy). He has had a several surgeries and must use a powered wheelchair.

          Anthony is a fighter and loves Soccer!!!

          Last year, we moved to California, where he has had the opportunity to play Power Soccer on the Glendale Rough Riders team. He participated in his first season competing in several cities: Santa Barbara, Fresno, San Jose and also Indiana. He is ecstatic to participate in his second season!!!!

          But he needs a Strike Force Power Soccer Chair controlled with the chin, equipped with additional supports that helps his posture and keeps him secure. These chairs are more powerful than a regular chair and expensive. He was able to use a power soccer chair that was lent to him last season, but he needs his own chair to really compete. (A photo of the power chair is below along with Anthony in his “loaner” chair).

          In addition to the expenses of the power soccer chair, we also have the travel, food and hotel expenses.
