Help Annie with life saving surgery costs

UPDATE: Thank you all for your amazing & generous donations so far - I can't believe the £10k goal has been achieved in just a few days! You are all so wonderful to support such a worthy cause.
Unfortunately, the Bajan government have requested these two beautiful and wonderful people to contribute 50,000BD (£17,500) towards Annie's transport to Columbia, and cost of the surgery etc.
So, if you haven't already donated & feel so inclined, any contributions would be gratefully received.
Thanks again for all your donations, shares and lovely messages!

Look at her face; how often do you not seeing her smiling?

Annie Barnett has helped so many people with their problems; supported friends through tough times; been a loyal and supportive wife to her husband throughout his army career; an on call hairdresser, ensuring brides feel special on their wedding day; the most helpful manager at Tesco's and an amazing mum, cousin, daughter, sister and sister in law; making sure her family feels constantly loved and supported.

I am Annie’s sister in law, and my heart is breaking for her husband, her two brothers and son.
After Tristan left the Army, they decided to move to Barbados to live - a dream that her dad and family had had for years. Unfortunately, her dad suddenly passed away in 2009 before he had a chance to fulfil his dream of returning back to his home country. Annie and Tristan worked hard to make the dream a reality after realising how short life could be, even though this would mean starting from scratch, without connections, a steady income or even the luxuries of paid healthcare, sick pay or grants. After 5 years, they have worked incredibly hard to finally settle down there.

And then this happens…

As you may or may not know, whilst out walking with her husband Tristan and friend, on the 28th May 2021 Annie collapsed in agony with a bleed on the brain from an aneurysm. She was lucky that her incredible husband was there to do everything in his  power to keep her alive until she could get to hospital.
Unfortunately, there is no NHS in Barbados and health insurance was out of the question due to cost.
After a turbulent week in high dependency units at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados, the neurosurgeons decided that the initial life saving brain surgery was too risky to perform in Barbados, due to it’s inaccessibility. The only way to ensure her safety would be to transfer her abroad to have a safer and more up to date surgery. The incredible Bajan Government have generously agreed to pay for the majority of Annie’s transport, surgery and care. However, they have requested a donation towards this, which put them both in a very stressful situation. Most of us, with the current health care bodies and after care, are fortunate enough not to have to choose debt to save the life of their loved one. Sadly that is the position Annie and Tristan have been put in and with the added loss of income while they go through all this - haven’t they been through enough?

So, whether you know her as Annie, the wife of Tristan Barnett during his army career, your hairdresser, cousin, mum, friend or sister in law, Annie and Tristan could do with a helping hand; so they can focus on getting Annie back on feet, smiling and laughing and making every moment count with their family and friends.
We understand that times have been tough through the pandemic; so any donations would be hugely appreciated, big or small - even the 20p from down the side of the sofa!
Let’s see if we can get Annie back where she belongs, by her husbands side, lighting up the room with her beautiful smile and energy!
