Help Annie Mate Lubwika Build a Well

Hello all! My dear friend, Billy Mate, is seeking financial help for his elder sister, Annie Mate Lubwika, in Zambia. Annie is in need of a water well to be built on her property.

Annie is an incredible woman of God—one who has great knowledge of the Lord and speaks life wherever she goes. She holds a degree in Theology and has retired as a pastoral head and teacher at a Chrisitan school in the Ndola district of Zambia. Annie was the one who led my friend, Billy (her brother), to the Lord and he has become a pastor as well.

After losing her husband last year, Annie decided to spend her life at her farm to support herself and others and to focus on serving the Lord in full-time ministry. The family depends on the farm for 100% of their needs and they also use it for missionary work. Annie uses the corn, maize, soybeans, and tomatoes she grows to feed the undernourished people in nearby villages. She wishes to grow this ministry, however the productivity of the farm is hugely limited by the amount of rainfall they receive.

In this area of Zambia, water is a major challenge. Currently, Annie gets water in a few ways. She uses a shallow well from which water must be manually pulled up in buckets; this water is for bathing and washing. They also collect rain water in buckets. For drinking water, Annie drives 50 kilometers away to purchase drinkable water in containers. While collecting water is a daily chore and worry, Annie’s faith in God is truly inspiring. In her words, “But we trust God that one day a well will materialize. We don’t know how…by faith it will be done.” A well on her land will allow Annie to farm without the worry of drought/inconsistent rainfall and will also provide clean water to her home.

The well consists of a tank stand, the tank itself, and the pump. It will be used to provide clean water to her home and to irrigate the crops at her farm where she lives. It costs $2000 to drill and build the tank/stand and an additional $1000 to install a pump. The total cost is $3000. Help us raise this money so Annie can provide her home with clean water and so she can grow her farming ministry to feed and bring the Word of God to undernourished people.
