Annette Donouzjian is a 40 year old single mum of 4 brilliant children. The oldest two boys are 10 and 8 along with the girls 6 and 3. In 2004 Annette was diagnosed with Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (MS). As you can imagine this was a big shock but Annette continued to live her life as normal and push it to the back of her mind until in 2009 after the arrival of her first baby, Liam, when the effects of her MS really began to rear its head.
In the past 3 years Annettes MS has become increasingly worse and her quality of life has significantly deteriorated. Annettes MS mainly effects her eyes and her legs making the everyday tasks like driving and general housework difficult. Trips to the park are less frequent as her legs are not strong enough and driving after dark is out of the question. Chronic Tiredness is a real problem and with 4 kids Annette gets almost no recuperation time. The realisation that Annette may need a wheelchair in the very near future has hit her hard.
As a young Mum of 4 energetic children it is unpleasant for Annette to have to use an aid when out and about with them but without it she is quite unstable on her legs.
Annette is desperate to improve her and her children's quality of life and has spent countless hours researching every possible alternative treatment. And that is where you lovely lot come in!! Annette has been accepted for HSCT (Stem Cell Treatment) in Moscow in May 2020. This treatment can halt this cruel disease and give her back some of her life (please check out the link below for an explanation of what HSCT is so you dont have to listen to me waffle about it ).
The short of it is, this treatment is a chemotherapy based medical procedure that will reboot her immune system using her own stem cells. It is the only medical procedure currently known to halt the progression of the disease as opposed to Annettes current medication which only assists with stopping the amount of relapses she has. That isn't good enough we want more for her and she deserves more!!! The treatment is not 100% guaranteed but we have no alternative and therefore it is a must. Annette will go to any lengths to ensure she is well and able for her children even if this means having to be in isolation in Russia on her own for a month to have the treatment.
Like I said the treatment is not guranteed but who wouldnt try ? For her family and for herself Annette knows the possible pros outweigh the maybe cons so she is going to Russia and we need your help to get her there. ANY donation no matter how small and insignificant you may think it is, will be a HUGE benefit to Annette and as her family we sincerely from the bottom our hearts thank you for giving her this opportunity and reading her story.
