On January 24, 2021, I was sitting at home with my mom watching TV when she received a call from a concerned friend. She was informed that her apartment building was on fire. My mom raced home to find fire trucks all over the street and the top floor of her apartment building on fire. All she could think was how all her stuff was going up in flames and that she didn't have renter's insurance.
I called her to confirm that her apartment was on fire and the firemen instructed her to prepare for the worst. She then went over to my sister's house with nothing but the clothes on her back. The night was hard as she waited to find out if anything was salvageable.
The firefighters fought all night and finally got the fire under control. It took until mid-day on the 25th where my mom was able to pick up a few items. The items consisted of 3 large photo albums and her mother's wedding band that they were able to save from the fire. The firefighters also informed her that her apartment didn't get fire damage but the water, freeze and smoke left everything ruined.
The building has been red tagged and they have informed us that they won't allow anyone inside. She also found out that the building had collapsed into her bedroom and bathroom. It is hard to say if they will ever let us back in to salvage anything. Right now everything seems bleak and she needs your love and support to get through this.

Deposit on new apartment (Thanks to her good friend Lisa she was able to cover her deposit on her new apartment)

I am not sure on the actual cost. Right now I am hoping to raise $5,000 to help get her started. I know it probably will come to more than what I am aiming for but for right now it is a start.
Please help my mom out on this new journey in her life. She is really distraught over losing everything. I just want to make sure she is well taken care of.
