Dear friends,
A few months ago, I was approached with an amazing opportunity to collaborate with an Australian-based photographer on a documentary project exploring the lives of sex workers in Australia. This project follows in the footsteps of my previous photo documentaries, which sought to illuminate individual identities of members of marginalized groups and to distinguish these individuals from their perceived group identity.
I am asking for your help in making this project a reality. Last week, I was informed that my sponsor would be unable to fund my travel to and from Brisbane. Unfortunately, without this support my hopes of continuing this project are bleak, at best.
So I turn to you: my friends, my family, my classmates, and my coworkers to help me purchase a round-trip plane ticket to and from Brisbane, Australia.
Finally, I want to thank everyone who has supported me in my art through my time at Williams and beyond. You are the reason I am so drawn to my photo documentary work. In you, I see compassion, humanity, and life, and because of you, I'm driven to capture these moments in hopes of one day sharing your story and others' with the world.
