Baby Michael finally taking a bottle

Baby Michael finally off of oxygen help.

March 30, 2023.
What was supposed to be a happy and blessful day, quickly turned into every parents nightmare; I almost lost my daughter. It started as a regular delivery (vaginal) but quickly turned into a rushed c-section to save baby Michael. During the C-section, her surgeon went in to get baby Michael out because his heartbeat dropped to 80, and during this c-section, the surgeon unknowingly “messed up”. It was not noticed until my daughter was halfway stitched back up when the surgeon noticed the bleeding would not stop. She frantically called multiple doctors in to assist as she did not know why there was internal bleeding. The surgeon claims to have accidentally “knicked” the tube that connects her kidney to her bladder and did not know what to do. My daughter went through a blood transfusion twice and also almost flat lined twice. My son in law witnessed everything. Towards the end he was asked to leave the room and wait in her delivery room while they attempted to save my daughter. After he was told to leave we waited another hour for her to come back in her delivery room and all they said she was stable now but would need a ct scan done soon to see how bad the “Knick” was. She was only with us in the room for about 10 min before they took her for what was supposedly a CT Scan. They were actually taking her to surgery and we were unaware, as well as my daughter. She was gone for almost 4 hours and they wouldn’t update us on her. It wasn’t until my son in law finally got a phone call saying she was in recovery room, that we learned they had taken her for surgery. Surgery that they never told us about let alone asked us about.

They found out that the “knick” the surgeon had done to my daughter was very severe and if they didn’t go in and find a way to temporarily fix it till her swelling would go down, her kidney would stop functioning and my daughter would die.

My daughter now has a nephrostomy tube hanging out of her back and to make matters worse, this almost 4 hour surgery was just a “temporary” fix. She is still needing to have a future surgery to reconstruct her tube that connects from her kidney to her bladder.

She has been in the hospital since Monday, April 27th and still is currently still at Baylor All Saints in Fort Worth. Baby Michael is stable but due to being born early he is having to stay in the nicu, for an unknown length of time.

That’s another tragedy my daughter has to live endure. Being a nicu mom is not easy and will be even harder when she is discharged from the hospital. She is already barely mobile and leaving baby Michael behind will be hard because of her current condition, it won’t be easy for her to go back and fourth to see her youngest son.

After having lost their new baby girl Leila back in 2020, also due to negligence, this has been a traumatic experience not only for Angie and Sam, but our whole family and our very close friends.

Due to once again, the negligence shown by the same hospital, my daughter is unable to work for 6 months and now has to endure the next few months with the nephrostomy tube/bag, due to the fact that her bladder is not fully functioning on its own. There are more surgeries in her future. A plastic surgeon is going to be needed to reconstruct her tube.
I’m reaching out for help. Not only for her, but for her family. Anything helps, as she is a mother to 5 children.

My son in law is needing to take time off of work as well to be with her every step of the way during this difficult journey she now has.

My daughter works hard for her family with her lash business. She is unable to lash for 6 months due to having to take time off, and if you know her, you know this is killing her to do. She loves and appreciates her clients very much. That is her only source of income.
