Help Andrew Asaro Walk Again

Andrew Asaro, age 21, moved to Bozeman, Montana two years ago to pursue his passion of skiing. Everything was perfect from the moment he moved. He was skiing 5-6 days a week, making good friends and enjoying his life in all aspects. 


Sadly, everything changed on January 13th. Andrew had the day off of work and was spending the day skiing Big Sky with his friends. They were going through some trees when he slid out and smashed into a tree. He broke all 12 ribs on the right side of his body, fractured his C4 vertebrae and dislocated / slid two other vertebrae which in turn damaged his spinal cord. 

He was life-lifted off the mountain and flown to the Bozeman Hospital, via helicopter.

The initial diagnosis, when he arrived at the hospital, was that he had severed his spinal cord. The next morning, he went into surgery and the surgeons recognized that they had been wrong with their initial diagnosis. Andrew's spinal cord had instead been wrapped around his dislocated vertebrae. Although this is still terrible, it offers more hope than a severed spinal cord. 
Andrew is now paralyzed from the waist down, with no feeling below his belly button.

He has a strong, dedicated friend group but he will still need help with his numerous medical bills and possibly experimental medicine if he ever hopes to walk again. Since spinal care is very expensive, any donations would be greatly appreciated. The plan is to get Andrew down to the Denver Spinal Cord Injury Rehab center as soon as possible. There is still a chance to give Andrew his legs back. All donations will go towards helping Andrew Asaro with medical expenses.
