Help Andrea Walk

Donation protected

Hello! My name is Madeline and my sister, Andrea is a new amputee.

2 months ago Andrea was seen in the hospital with an infection in her right foot from a spider bite. They scraped out the infection and sent her home on oral antibiotics and a hole in her foot. Andrea is a diabetic and infections aren’t that easy to control for her.

Then on December 11, 2020 Andrea was taken to the emergency room. She was septic at this point and the infection was spreading fast. That night they made the decision to cut off half of the right foot to get rid of the infection. As a few days went by, the infection was still there and even with iv antibiotics the infection was getting out of control.

On December 18th, they amputated her right leg below the knee.

With Andrea being diabetic and right now no health insurance until mid January, it is going to be difficult to get her into a rehab to teach her how to navigate this new life being an amputee. One of the occupational therapists wants to send her home now just because she can hop to the chair next to the bed and back. It will also be difficult to get insulin to manage her diabetes.

This money will be used to help get her to rehab to help her start this new journey of being an amputee off right. It will also be used to pay some medical bills, insulin, and when the time comes soon a prosthetic. We want this transition to a new life to be as easy as possible for her being a young amputee. With everyone’s help she can do it!

If you can donate, thank you. If not, please share and help get the word out. She could use a Christmas miracle! Thank you ❤️
