<div>Our family is reaching out for support for <strong>Andrea</strong>. She was diagnosed with a Bronchial Fistula (hole in her lung) in July of this year. This condition started last year when they found a large tumor, which turned out to be a bacterial infection cyst. After the surgeon removed 1/3 of her left lung, she then developed a bronchial fistula and had to undergo three procedures to repair the leak. After several weeks in the hospital and eight months of recovery, she was finally able to return to work. After she returned to work for six months, she became ill and was diagnosed with pneumonia/flu. This illness compromised her surgical lung, and once again, she was diagnosed with bronchial fistula. For the past two months, she has been in and out of the hospital undergoing IV antibiotic treatments and draining the infection from her lung. Because there is no specialized lung surgeon in Nevada that can perform the procedure necessary to repair the hole in her lung, she will have to travel to California for the surgery. According to the surgeon at Keck USC in Los Angeles, California, she will have to continue her IV antibiotic treatments until the infection is clear and her body is strong enough to undergo the extensive surgery required. At this time, we have an estimated time of six to eight weeks from now until she may possibly be ready for surgery. Most importantly, she is a loving daughter, sister, and aunt to our family. While she focuses on healing and preparing for surgery, we want to make sure that she does not need to worry about her medical and daily living expenses before and after her surgery.
