Help Andover Gym Club to Bounce Back

Andover Salto Gymnastics Club has been a highly successful club for over 40 years. Originally training out of the local leisure centre we have progressed through a series of local schools and a small industrial unit with the aim of building a purpose built gymnasium. With the help of the Lottery, TVBC, HCC and local businesses the dream became a reality in 1998 when we opened the Salto Centre in Charlton, Andover.
Throughout all this time we have provide public classes in PreSchool and Recreational gymnastics in additional to our elite Tumble and Cheerleading competitive squads. As a non-profit Charity many of our services barely break even. Prior to the pandemic our class prices were low enough for budget conscious households to access our services while allowing us to subsidise squad training. We have taken pleasure in training some truly amazing gymnasts over the years, winning several National, European and World medals. Two of the current Tumbling Team World Champions, Kristof Willerton and Aimee Antonius, are members of our club.
At present we are unable to offer our gymnasts training in our building which has resulted in a significant loss of income for the club. With the gym currently closed and the prospect of smaller class sizes combined with the inability to offer our regular services such as Drop-Ins and Birthday Parties we are finding it near impossible to make ends meet. We have been fortunate to have received a Sport England Emergency Fund grant towards the insurance and rent costs for April through July. We have not been eligible for any of the business grants from the local council.
We want to continue to offer first class coaching to all our members in our own facility. We are also eager to make the transition into on-line classes, enabling us to continue to work with our 1000+ gymnasts as safely as possible. This new approach is going to have a significant financial impact on the club, for both staff and gymnasts.
We are looking to you, our supporters, to assist us with these transitions and to allow us to continue to work with children who are as passionate as we are about sport, to allow those talent, drive and ambition to progress to World standard. We seek your generosity in helping us to fund the changes needed to keep Andover Salto Gymnastics Club going forward.
You will not receive anything for your charitable donation, however you will have the knowledge that by giving to this organisation you have helped improve the physical health and promoted the mental well-being of our members and helped to shape the current and future generations of British Tumblers.
