<div>In the heart of Indonesia lies a tropical paradise, Lombok.
</div>
<div>However, if you are an advocate for animal rights, ‘paradise’ couldn’t be further from the truth.
</div>

<div><strong>In Lombok, dogs are overpopulated, abused, starved and killed. </strong>
</div>

</div>
<div>Here at Shelter for Lombok Dogs we are housing over 70 rescue dogs. Our dogs are split between our shelter, our disabled dogs' house and our rehab clinic.

<div>Urgent action is being taken when responding to the overpopulation issue. Our team is out on the streets of Lombok 4 days a week sterilising stray dogs - this is the only way to fight against the continuous suffering.

<div>Along with this <strong>we are taking in dogs almost every week in critical conditions.</strong> Our patients have been victims of road traffic accidents, violent abuse, shootings, poisonings, the list goes on.

<div>Unfortunately, we have recently faced unfortunate circumstances.

<div>The village neighbouring our current shelter location have asked us to leave, they do not agree any longer with the dogs being there. <strong>We are now being forced to move.</strong> This also means that we are now faced with the upsurge in land value across the developing South Lombok.

<div>We also need more space, as our disabled house and rehabilitation clinic are currently in a different location to our current shelter. We need everything to be on one plot of land <strong>especially</strong> <strong>now</strong> <strong>due</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>increasing</strong> <strong>population</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>disabled</strong> <strong>patients</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>emergency</strong> <strong>cases.</strong> Land prices have increased dramatically since moving into our current location. This means that the previous amount raised on Gofundme only covers the land costs, it does not cover the construction on the land itself.

<div>Currently we have a disabled house where we house 5 disabled rescue dogs. All are either paralysed or have undergone amputation surgery. We also have 4 new paralysed rescues or disabled patients undergoing treatment at our current clinic, they will soon need to join the disabled house. The number of disabled dogs is increasing dramatically. The house we have is becoming full, we need this area also to be moved to the new land.

<div><strong>Vet Clinic </strong>
</div>
<div>Moving our Veterinary Clinic onsite will be incredible. Our rescues will be able to have immediate emergency care when needed as well as regular check ups from our Vets. With the ongoing and increasing amount of emergency reports we receive, having a clinic onsite will make rescues much easier and more efficient.

<div><strong>Kitchen</strong>
</div>
<div>A basic kitchen is required onsite in order to cook daily food for our 70+ rescues as well as for the many street dogs we feed on our street feeding programme.

<div><strong>Housing </strong>
</div>
<div>A house is required for our dedicated staff. This is crucial to make sure we have at least one staff member at the shelter 24/7 to protect and care for our rescues. We have had devastating experiences with poisonings. We need our rescues to be protected at all times.

<div>There is also the opportunity to prepare dogs in the adoption process for a life in the household without having to rely on foster homes. (These are more than rare on Lombok).

<div>Shelter For Lombok Dogs has a big vision and our goal is ambitious. As the only physical shelter in south Lombok we plan on this land being the symbol of change for the stray dogs of Lombok. We want to continually grow to help even more dogs on the island.

Sie teilen alle das Schicksal eines folgenschweren Unfalls, Misshandlung und eher seltener eines angeborenen Defekts. Entweder sind sie gelähmt oder haben eine Amputation hinter sich.

<div>Umstände, die ein Leben auf der Straße unmöglich machen.

<div>Leider steigt die Anzahl dieser Fälle, wodurch unser jetziges ‚Disabled House‘ schon am Rande seiner Kapazitäten ist.

<div><strong>Tierärztliche Klinik </strong>
</div>
<div>Die Verlegung unserer derzeitigen kleinen Klinik auf das neue Grundstück mit Bereitschaftsdienst wird unsere Arbeit massiv erleichtern. Die Vorteile für unsere Hunde liegen auf der Hand - sie können bei Bedarf sofortige Notfallversorgung erhalten und die regelmäßigen Checkups werden auch erleichtert.

<div>Angesichts der ständig steigenden Meldungen von Notfellchen, die wir erhalten, wird die Einrichtung einer ‚Klinik’ vor Ort die Rettungsaktionen wesentlich erleichtern und effizienter gestalten.

<div>Hunde, die weiterhin auf der Straße überleben können, werden wieder ausgesetzt und auf der Straße weiter durch unser ambulantes Team versorgt.

<div>Vor Ort wird eine einfache Küche benötigt. In dieser bereiten wir täglich Futter für unsere geretteten Hunde (über 70) sowie zahlreiche Straßenhunde zu. Diese versorgen wir auch täglich im Rahmen des <em>‚street feeding programs’ </em>(Straßenhund-Fütterungsprogramm).

<div>Für unsere engagierten Mitarbeiter wird eine Unterkunft benötigt. Nur so können wir sicherstellen, dass mindestens ein Mitarbeiter rund um die Uhr im Tierheim anwesend ist, um unsere Hunde zu schützen und zu versorgen. Leider wurden in jüngster Vergangenheit immer wieder Hunde von uns vergiftet.

<div>Es entsteht auch die Möglichkeit Hunde im Adoptionsprozess auf ein Leben im Haushalt vorzubereiten, ohne auf Pflegestellen angewiesen zu sein. (Diese sind mehr als rar auf Lombok).
