Hope & Hugs for Harper

Donation protected
Tom and Jessica Sempek have 3 beautiful daughters to complete their family. Hailey is 4, Harper is 20 months, and new addition Harlow is 1 month old. They were enjoying life with 3 daughters and adjusting to a life with 3 kids instead of 2 when things changed. Please read the below paragraph written by Tom regarding their daughter Harper.

“On March 21st, we took our 20-month-old daughter Harper to the pediatrician. She had just gotten over a bout with strep throat, but could not break her fever, so we knew something wasn’t quite right. She just wasn’t herself anymore. Lethargic, pale, dehydrated. Not the smiling, crazy, fun-loving toddler she once was.
After a blood test, the pediatrician told us to take Harper to the Emergency Room right away. A normal hemoglobin count for a child her age is around 12 g/dL. Harper’s was 4.3 g/dL. After we arrived to Children’s Hospital, the doctors and nurses were very attentive, caring, and informative of the situation. Unfortunately, our child was going to be admitted over night for further tests. We were moved upstairs into a more comfortable room for our little one, and were bombarded with information and procedures that were to take place. Harper was taken for a bone marrow biopsy and a spinal tap. All we could do was sit and wait for the results, shed many tears, and share some laughs with our strong girl.
On March 23rd, Harper Rose was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It is cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects white blood cells.
We are experiencing one of the worst nightmares as parents. Harper will have to go through chemotherapy for the next 2 1/2 years of her life, with many trips to the doctor. She will not go through this battle alone. She has her sisters Hailey and Harlow, my wife and I, and so many friends and family members that love her and support her. This child is already on her second dose of chemo and countless meds and still smiling. She is stronger than we could have ever imagined.”

Aside from the emotional pain and suffering that Jessica, Tom, and the rest of the family is going through, adding financial stress to this situation is the last thing we want them dealing with.
If you have ANYTHING to donate to help, please do so, as we are doing anything we can to help them and make this less stressful for them in any way we can. Your donations will go to help with little Harpers medical expenses, bills and financial hardships for the family as Jessica and Tom will be missing a significant amount of work to focus their time on caring for Harper.

Thank you so much.
