Help and Healing for Kristopher Reeves
Donation protected
On December 22nd Kristopher was admitted to the ICU with CoVID pneumonia and sepsis. His condition quickly deteriorated and within a week he was transferred to one of the best ICUs on the west coast and placed on ECMO. The ECMO machine acts in place of his lungs, balancing the oxygen and other gasses in his blood so that his lungs can rest and heal. That same day he was given a trach and since then the ICU team has balanced letting the vent do some of the work and letting his lungs rest while the ECMO does the work. There have been a lot of little steps forward and a few back, which is not unexpected when someone is this critically ill. But his body is otherwise healthy and if anyone is a fighter with the ability to win this battle, it’s Kris!
But no one fights a battle this tough alone and right now more than ever Kris needs the help of our friends and community. Being self-employed means that if he isn’t working, there is no money coming in to pay the bills or cover the medical expenses that are just getting started. Those of you who know Kris know that he would give a friend in need the shirt off his back. He would show up any time day or night to help a complete stranger with whatever was needed and never ask for so much as a penny. But right now he needs our help financially and our family is asking for donations to help ensure he has a home to come back to and a head start on that mountain of medical bills. Once the recovery process starts, he will likely need extensive physical therapy and rehabilitation and those come with an overwhelming price tag, one that there simply isn’t any money to pay for.
Our family is humbly asking for donations to help us fund some of those bills and medical expenses. We are in this for the long haul and any amount, no matter how small, means the world to us and will have a positive impact towards our goal. More than monetary donations, we need prayers and healing vibes for both Kris and his mother Carolyn as they fight for their lives. They both need a miracle right now and those are not something money can buy. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. B kind to one another, overuse I love you, and be safe friends.
