Help Anamaria fight off a rare cancer.

Donation protected
Hi Everybody,
This summer, my daughter Anamaria was diagnosed with 7 tumors of HEMANGIOPERICYTOMA, a rare type of soft-tissue cancer. One near the liver, one near a kidney, one lesion above the brain, one on top of a rib bone, one near a lung and two in the abdominal wall. As a single mom undergoing chemotherapy, radiation and raising two amazing kids, she needs help. All monies will go to food, utilities, housing, kids’ needs, and medical.

We created this GoFundMe page to help Anamaria and her kids through this challenging time because even despite chemotherapy, Anamaria continues to work from home when she feels up to it. However, she now does not have the energy to work every day, drive the kids to school and take herself to the hospital for treatments. Anamaria has never smoked. She doesn't drink. She has never abused drugs and has always eaten healthily. To quote the Oncologist… “We don’t understand why she got this type of cancer; it's just the cards dealt in life….”

Anamaria’s Story:
In 2014 Anamaria was diagnosed with a large brain tumor. Worse yet, it was hemangiopericytoma, a rare cancer that only affects 0.01% of people. Unlike other soft tissue tumors, hemangiopericytoma remains poorly understood and highly aggressive. The doctors predicted 20% loss of vision, 10% loss of mobility or even some paralysis and severe cognitive loss. The surgery was split over two days and took 19 hours. Despite all that, Anamaria was so strong and resilient that she regained all vision and mobility within six months. The doctors even published a Research Paper about how her brain resisted the tumor and called it REMARKABLE.
However, in 2018 cancer returned. This time a large hemangiopericytoma mass was found in her back, next to the spine. Again, the family came together, and Anamaria underwent two surgeries in Miami. The recovery was longer this time. She now had titanium supports on her spine and a very long recovery. She currently lives with constant low-level pain.  Any average person would be at home or have given up already, but not Anamaria. She is a superhero! This woman is still fighting, being a great mom and taking care of her two kids; even on bad days, she is there for them. Her daughter Sofia just turned fifteen and will learn to drive soon as she takes AP classes in High School. Her son Damian is in 7th Grade and is learning the clarinet. Both are straight “A” students with bright futures. They, too, have been helping Mom when not in school; doing laundry, cleaning and, importantly, making mom laugh.

This brings us to 2022. This cancer is a beast and has returned in the worse way!
We, her family and friends, wanted to do this GoFundMe for her because every time she has gone over these difficulties, she has never asked for anything, but right now she needs to put all her effort into getting better.
Anamaria will appreciate any assistance you can give her.
Thank you.
