We are the Strawberry Crest High School Model United Nations team, a passionate group of students from Dover, Florida, striving to make our mark on the national stage. For years, we’ve dreamed of attending a major conference—of stepping into committee rooms filled with voices from across the country, debating global issues, and representing our school with pride. This year, we finally have the chance: FHSMUN 47.
But we need your help to get there.
Our school is a Title I institution, meaning most of our students come from low-income households. While we receive federal funding for basic resources like school lunches, our district and state do not cover any costs for extracurricular activities. Every conference fee, hotel night, and travel expense must be paid out of pocket—and for many of our members, that’s simply not possible.
Despite these challenges, our club has grown in strength and spirit. We’ve held mock debates, mentored younger students, and stayed late after school preparing resolutions and speeches. Yet for the past two years, we’ve had to watch national conferences pass us by—not because we lacked drive, but because we lacked funding.
FHSMUN would be our first high-level conference. It’s more than just a trip—it’s a chance to prove what we’re capable of, to connect with other student leaders, and to bring back inspiration to our school and community. Many of our members have never traveled out of state for academic enrichment. This experience could be life-changing.
We’re fundraising as much as we can locally, but we need additional support to make this dream a reality. Your donation will go directly toward registration fees, travel, lodging, and meals for our students. Every dollar helps us get one step closer to the conference floor.
If you believe in equity, education, and empowering young voices, please consider donating or sharing our campaign. Help us show that where you come from should never limit where you can go.
