WHO WE ARE
We are the only Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) Oasis in South London, led by Rev David William Parry to promote the mental and spiritual well-being of residents of all sexualities and genders, as well as faith or no faith. It has run continuously for the past three years through donations, but is now struggling to maintain its services due to the pandemic. The group is open to everybody irrespective of ethnicity, gender, religion, sexuality, disability or any other grounds of discrimination, while offering practical support to vulnerable individuals and groups, particularly homeless veterans. Overall, we are guided by a commitment to dismantle patriarchy, imperialism and the state structures that disproportionately harm queer communities in South London. This is homophobia.
HOW WE'LL SPEND THE FUNDS!
- Hosting free meditation sessions
- Providing monthly support on a practical and spiritual level for the homeless
- Counselling in personal and relational matters
- Monthly lectures to uplift and raise general awareness. Previous guests have included Prof Michael York, Fr Tom Bodkin, Estonian philosopher Vladimir Wiedemann, Anglo-Saxon poet Andrew Rea, coordinator of Muslim LGBT Network Ejel Khan, not to mention multi-award-winning LGBT advocate Shaun Dellenty.
- Renting venue space
- Providing emergency assistance to those affected by the Coronavirus crisis.
IMPORTANT NOTE.
We're especially calling on big business and other churches who have historically profited from the talents of the LGBTQIA+ community, while nevertheless supporting our marginalisation, imprisonment and suppression. This is homophobia. Actions speaker louder than words!

This group fights for the extended LGBTQIA+ family being persecuted across the globe before and during the global lockdown. As we speak, in Chechnya gay people are being rounded up and tortured in conversion therapy camps, while across the Russian Federation there are clear risks, including police intimidation and unfair imprisonment. In China, queer people are currently executed, while in the majority of countries LGBTQIA+ people are denied equality and murdered for their sexuality or gender. This is homophobia.
We stand in solidarity and love with you in demanding justice and change for all. In which case, we will appreciate any help, best wishes and support for the vital work of love and tolerance of this church to continue. After all, Rev David William Parry believes in the infinite potential of every single human being.
