Help an Art Studio Renovation & Expansion Project

Greetings from Lovlee Art Studios, LLC! My name is Lovlee Tang. I am a wife and mother of four children and the Lead Artist Instructor/Owner of Lovlee Art Studios. Lovlee Art Studios is a community art studio space that empowers children and adults through art. We provide mixed media art experiences such as birthday parties, art studio workshops, camps, community fundraising, corporate art events, virtual art workshops, after-school art enrichment programs and more. Our unique style of creating focuses on sustainable and process-based art projects. In our projects, we use upcycled, recycled, and repurposed materials combined with elements from nature, paints, and traditional arts and crafts materials. I am raising funds for our second studio location to help cover renovation expenses and purchase art materials, furniture and equipment for the new space.

Due to the uncertainty of extending our current lease beyond November 2023, I proactively needed to find a permanent home for Lovlee Art Studios. This September, I found a location that ignited my vision of our community studio. I secured the site with a long-term lease agreement for LAS. I finally have a place to call home and deepen our impact within the community. However, the space's interior needed extensive renovations to meet health and safety standards. The funds raised will help cover the unexpected investment in the initial repairs in the studio space while allowing us to get our second bathroom operational with plumbing and adding a sink. In the future, we aim to have the second bathroom rebuilt and designed to meet ADA standards. The funds will also allow us to hire and bring in guest artists to teach specialized classes, programs and workshops. Funding will allow us to purchase lots and lots and lots of art materials and equipment for our students!! Bringing in guest artists and the opportunity to buy materials that enhance the creative experience excites me so much!

I have a vision of having a studio fully stocked with various clays, paints (tempera, watercolors, acrylic, oil paints, ink for printmaking), brushes, paper, canvases, scissors, pencils, crayons, markers, oil pastels, smocks, tabletop easels, a color printer for flyers/marketing, cleaning and sanitation products, additional shelving, a gallery hanging system for art shows, tables, chairs and so much more. Indeed the list is endless when financial resources are available. These funds will allow us to continue establishing our new location while offering creative programming with no additional cost for materials.

This project is important to me because I believe the arts enrich the foundation of the community. I also believe that art IS therapy. The arts are healing in ways unexplained. When I was a child, creating art was my safe place. Expressing myself through my unique art style allowed me to make sense of the world around me. I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to create that safe space for other children and adults.

I see our new location as a community hub, and this fundraising opportunity will allow Lovlee Art Studios to hit the ground running in creative service for our community and beyond.
