Hi everyone, my name is Rukhsana. I'm 25, queer/nonbinary, and a disabled digital artist. I currently reside in Denver CO where I take online classes for 2D Animation. I also have two cats. I was laid off from my job on 01/05/24 and lost my apartment, and had to move back in with my abuser. As a result, he has assaulted me again and damaged my property.
In the last two years, I have struggled to remain on stable footing while living here. I came to Colorado from a really abusive living situation and just landed myself in another, and another, and another. My abuser has tried to murder me on multiple occasions, as well as destroyed much of my property. I have suffered through an immense amount of trauma, and I have virtually no support system here. I am completely financially independent, as well as estranged from my narcissistic abusive family, so I do and pay for everything myself.
In October of 2023, I managed to finally move into a dorm style building near my school and get myself to safety away from my abuser. However, I was very sick and hospitalized on 12/30/23 and shortly after my position at work was eliminated without warning or severance pay. This caused me to be late on rent for the month of 01/2024, and I was no longer able to pay it. Because I had nowhere else to stay, I had to move back in with my abuser and try to find a new job.
Since then, he has assaulted me and destroyed my computer that I use for art, school, and work. It is not safe for me to be in Colorado anymore. I have friends/found family in California who have been supporting me through this and who are willing to let me stay with them so I can find a job and new apartment. The problem is getting there with my two cats and my belongings.
The funds from here would be used for about a couple months of rent (including security deposit), moving costs, medical expenses (I take medication), food, cat food/litter, anything that will help me get to a new and safe apartment while I look for a full time job so I can continue school.
Another option if you are wanting to support me is to commission me! As long as you understand the turnaround time will be long due to current circumstances. I can do portraits, pet portraits, character commissions, etc. Here is my carrd for more info including my portfolio and a google form you can fill out:
I am selling a Melanie Martinez print on my inprnt store currently if that interests anyone: https://www.inprnt.com/frames/blood0ffering/
I will try to update this as much as I can. If you have a few bucks to throw my way every little bit helps, and if not it would mean a lot to me if you could share this as much as you can. Thank you for reading!
