<div>Amber Lynn Selle is a devoted wife, loving mom to 3 rambunctious kids (ages 4, 6 &amp; 7), and beloved member of our community in Wittenberg, WI. Anyone who has met Amber is graced by her gentle nature, strong faith, and if you’re lucky, a loaf of her famous homemade sourdough bread. After 2 years of acute pelvic pain, undiagnosed symptoms, and multiple specialists, the doctors ordered an MRI earlier this year and located a mass on her left ovary. She was urged to have an immediate surgery to remove her left ovary, tube, and the mass which would be further tested. When planning for the surgery, that is when they found out their insurance (the only coverage plan offered at Zach’s work) didn’t cover a dime of it. Not imaging, not anesthesia, not the surgeon, not the pathology…. Nothing! Zach’s insurance also didn’t cover the prior appointments or MRI. With time against them, Amber had her first surgery. Within a few days post-surgery, she received devastating news- it was cancer. She was then scheduled for another surgery to remover her uterus, cervix, right tube, omentum, and 5 lymph nodes. Again, none of that was covered. During this surgery and in recovery her heart went into arrhythmia and she was admitted for another night to monitor. She now has post op follow ups, and continuing care appointments every 3 months with a gynecologist and oncologist which insurance does not cover. Amber is a stay at home mom and although her husband, Zach, has a steady income, he is also pursuing his bachelors degree and the financial toll of cancer and medical surgeries is overwhelming. Total medical bills are over 90k between 3 hospitals with more arriving daily. The Selle family has given so much to our community such as volunteering for youth baseball/T ball, Sunday school teaching, helping at Wittenberg Elementary, PTO, Cub Scout leading, and more! They now need our help to ease the financial burden so they can focus on Amber’s healing and road to good health. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help this wonderful family.
