ከጥቂት ወራት በፊት በጆሃንስበርግ (Honeydew) በተባለ ቦታ በሚገኘው አፍሪካን ለ ለአፍሪካ በሚል መርህ መሰረት የተመሰረተው ቅድመ ዩኒቨርስቲ መርሃ-ግብር ( World class Pan-African boarding school ) በተለምዶ አፍሪካን ሊደርሽፕ አካደሚ( Africa leadership academy) በመባል በሚታወቀው Pre-University ፕሮግራም ዉስጥ አፕላይ ኣድርጌ ከብዙ ዉድድሮች እና ሂደቶች በኋላ አልፌ ይህንን ትልቅ የነጻ የትምህርት እድል ለማግኘት ችያለሁ : : በእውነቱ ይህንን እድል በማግኘቴ ከምገልጸው በላይ በጣም ደስተኛ ነኝ::
በአጠቃላይ ሂደቱን በተመለከተ ለውድድሩ ከ አጠቃላይ ከአፍሪካ አህጉር ማለትም ከ45 በላይ ሃገሮች ዉስጥ አትዮጵያን ጨምሮ ከሚገኙ ተማሪዎቹ ዉስጥ በላኩት (Submit ) ባደረጉት ትራንስክሪፕት( transcript ), ኢሴይ (7/6 Essay questions , academic award , School reports ፡ Extracurricular activities , and voucher ) መሰረት ለ ፍጻሜው ከአጠቃላይ ከ አፍሪካ ተማሪዎች ዉስጥ 400 ተማሪዎች ለሌላ ለ ሁለተኛ ዉድድር ይመረጣሉ ።
(ALA) Africa leadership academy ለመግባት ብዙ ጥረትን ና የ ዉድድር ዙሮችን ይጠይቃል ። ያማለት ALA ተማሪዎችን የመቀበል ሁኔታው በ ፐርሰንት ሲገለጽ ከ 100 ሰዎች 5 ሰዎችን ብቻ ለማስተማር ይቀበላል (5%) :: ያማለት በጣም አነስተኛ ተማሪ ይቀበላል (Very low acceptance rate) አለው ማለት ነው::
በመቀጠልም ከአጠቃላይ አፍሪካ አህጉር ከሚገኙ 400 የፍጻሜ ተወዳዳሪዎች መሃከል የመጨረሻው ዉድድሩን ተወዳድሮ የነጻ የትምህርት እድሉን ለማግኘት ፊይናሊስት ኢቨንት (Finalist event) በ መላው ከ45 በላይ ከሚሆኑ የ አፍሪካ ሃገራት ውስጥ ይዘጋጅ እና ይካሄዳል: : በ ውደድሩም
-Entrance exam (Maths and English )
-Guesstimating questions
-Object based introduction of yourselves
-Three page essay writing per a given minutes
-Leadership activities
-And a lot of fun activities ይካሄዳሉ::
በመቀጠል የALA አድሚሽንስ( admissions team ) በጥልቅ(deeply) ተማሪዎቹን ኢንተርቪው ይደረጋሉ፤ በመጨረሻም ከ አጠቃላይ በ አፍሪካ ከሚገኙ 400 ፊይናሊስቶች ውስጥ 120 ተማሪወች የነጻ ትምህርት እድሉን ያገኛሉ: :
ALA ውስጥ ለመማር $61,800 የአሜሪካን ዶላር ያስፈልጋል። በመሆኑም ተማሪዎች ይህንን ለመክፈል ይቸገራሉ በሚል ሃሳብ Africa leadership academy ( ALA) ውስጥ አድሚት(Admit) ለተደረጉ ተማሪዎች ስኮላርሽፕ ወይም የ (FINANCIAL ASSISTANT )ይሰጣል ። በዚህም መሰረት እኔ ያገኘሁት የገንዘብ ድጋፍ ወይም አዋርድ ( Financial assistance award) $61,200 የ አሜሪካን ዶላር ነው። ነገር -ግን ምንም ያክል ከፍተኛ አዋርድ (አዋርድ ) እና የሚያስመሰግን ቢሆንም ቤተሰቦቸ የቀረውን($61,800-$61,200=$600) ለመክፈል አልቻሉም።
በመሆኑም በአጠቃላይ ለ ፕሪ ዪኒቨርስቲው(Pre University ) ብቻ መክፈል የሚጠበቅብኝ $600 የአሜሪካ ዶላር ነው:: ያማለት ለቪዛ አፕኬሽን ፕሮሰስ የሚከፈለውን ሳይጨምር ማለት ነው:: ቤተሰቦቸ ደግም ይህንን ማድረግ አይችሉም ስለዚህ የመጨረሻ ያለኝ አማራጭ የስኮላርሽፕ ኦፈሩን( Scholarship Offer) ውድቅ(decline) ማድረግ ነው። ይህንን ከማድረጌ በፊት ግን ምን አልባት ልትረዱኝ ፈቃደኛ የሆናችሁ ሰወች ካላችሁ በ ታላቅ ትህትና እና አክብሮት እጠይቃለሁ::

First of all I would like to say that I am much honoured to get the Chance to be admitted into this fine school ,African leadership academy. My name is Amanuel Erkyihun Bekalu and I am eleventh grader Currently enrolled at D/Markos preparatory school , Amhara region around D/Markos.
I had a scholarship contest before some months in Addis Ababa ,German embassy and I won and get accepted for this scholarship opportunity at Johannesburg in a place called honeydew. During the competition, we were about 15-20 finalists from the whole applicants pool in Ethiopia and among them only four of us have been admitted to enrol in AlA .
It is a world class pan African boarding school commonly know as African leadership academy (ALA).
African Leadership Academy (ALA) seeks to enrol the most outstanding young leaders from across Africa and around the world – ALA is not only looking for young people who are smart and excel in the academic environment, They are looking for young people with the potential to lead and impact the world around them through their courage, initiative and innovation.
As you may aware , The total fees without scholarship to enrol at ALA is $61,200 . As a Low income Ethiopian student , I simply don't feel that I can afford it . They have a principle saying that every student should contribute something for their education at ALA. But I still can't do that. My financial assistance award over two year is really significant and good , $60,900 over two years. So My responsibility will be only $600 besides to the costs for the visa application process.
But, as I mentioned before it remains tough for me to afford and enrol . So , In short I would like to let you know that I need to find someone who is willing to help me. if you are or know someone who is wiling help me please nominate them to reach out me .
I am gonna decline the scholarship offer because I could not afford. My Father is on an extremely tight budget and unfortunately cannot afford to pay for my schooling. Frankly speaking ,Asking people for money is hard. I get weird sometimes just asking very distant relatives to chip in for my School required materials .But have no choice other than asking people fro help. He is a single parent, raising 4 daughters and My grand father and mother on his own.
