Young Industry Women Charged with
DUI for cannabis
-used for treatment of Epilepsy

In February 2019, upon waking up, I had my very first seizure. After further testing was done, I was diagnosed with
Epilepsy.
I was a previous cannabis patient & started consuming a concentrated form of cannabis known as RSO for my epilepsy.

In September of 2019 I woke up in the emergency room at Sunrise, handcuffed to a hospital bed. The last thing I remember was the intersection at Desert Inn & Nellis, after leaving work at my Cannabis cultivation facility around 3pm...
The familiar confusion, the pounding in my head, & cuts on my tongue. The fear set in & I knew I had another seizure.
I see an officer standing, waiting for me to come to. She proceeds to tell me a concerned citizen stopped my car from slow-drifting into traffic or worse. One of the first things I asked her is “did I hurt anyone?” At first, she wouldn’t even tell me, she just told me “I was banging on your window, you were driving on the sidewalk” & “do you realize what you could have done!?” question after question, I had no idea I was digging my owe grave of a conviction.
My partner had my location & being she couldn’t get ahold of me, called my boss & they both rushed to the ER.
It wasn’t until after the Sargent came, that the officer was directed to remove my handcuffs. She had already requested a warrant to draw my blood on suspicion of DUI because of my altered state & “the smell of marijuana.”

Due to the THC found in my system, & being extremely naïve hiring an awful lawyer, I have been charged with a DUI.

I am now left with a car I cannot drive & legal fees..

I want to share my story because even if my charges are not withdrawn, even if I don’t have the ability to get the appeal done.... MAYBE, just maybe it can help someone else, open someone’s eyes, or bring more light to the fact that THE LAW MUST CHANGE! The limit for THC is completely unjust. Cannabis has literally saved my life more than once now & it is BECAUSE of cannabis I am 18 months seizure free!!!
