<div>In late 2023, Amanda received devastating news—she had thyroid cancer. At the time, she was still postpartum with her daughter Vivian, juggling newborn life with medical appointments and caregiving.

<div>In early 2024, as Amanda prepared for surgery, she was stunned to learn she was pregnant again. Despite having taken all precautions during this challenging time, Amanda and her husband Dylan embraced the unexpected pregnancy as a sign that baby Josephine was meant to be here. With support and guidance from her medical team, they made the courageous decision to postpone treatment and welcomed their third child in November 2024.

<div>Amanda is now the devoted mom of three: Parker (turning 5 in October), Vivian (recently 2), and baby Josephine. While she works as a PRN nurse, her primary role has been caregiving at home. Dylan works full-time as an infection preventionist for Baptist Health Systems, making theirs largely a single-income household—one now facing a major medical and financial storm.

<div>Amanda’s long-awaited thyroid surgery is scheduled for Thursday, May 29. But their challenges are far from over. Despite her surgeon being in-network, the complexity and location of the tumors mean the procedure must be done at an out-of-network hospital, drastically increasing costs.

<div>On top of this, Amanda has and will undergo:
</div>
<div>•	Imaging and lab work every 6 weeks
</div>
<div>•	Post-operative recovery and medications
</div>
<div>•	Radioactive iodine (RAI) therapy later this year (in a different insurance cycle)
</div>
<div>•	A period of time where she cannot work while healing
</div>

<div>The total out-of-pocket burden is expected to exceed $30,000. We’re hoping to raise $25,000 to help relieve some of the financial pressure from this young family.

<div>•	Lab work, scans, and follow-up care

<div>•	Radiation treatment later this year
