Help Amanda & Mike Adopt Lucy

Amanda and Mike are two of the best people you could possibly know. They met in college, and got married in July of 2011. Shortly after exchanging vows they decided they wanted to start a family. Since then it has been a long journey. After about a year of trying on their own with no success they sought out help from a fertility doctor. They were given very little odds of having any children naturally, so they decided to try IVF treatment. They attempted the treatment numerous times over the course of 6 years, again, with no success. As heartbreaking as it has been, Amanda and Mike have remained very strong and faithful in this process and continue to do what they can to have a family of their own. They have decided to take the path God has led them to and share their love with a child through the process of Adoption.
Adoption is such a beautiful, amazing thing, however it does comes with a price. Amanda and Mike have done lots of research and have chosen to adopt from China through Holt International. They have been approved for a little girl, as well as the possibility of siblings. As they continue with the adoption process, they prepare their home for their bundle of joy. They have chosen to name their adopted girl, Lucy.
They have begun the very exciting and hopeful process of adopting Lucy. Our goal with this fundraiser is to really help them through the next series of fees. The total cost of adopting from China through Holt is about $40,000.00. They are currently waiting to accept the assignment of a child and begin scheduling travel plans. This 'Adoption Program Fee' is $12,500.00 alone. There are also additional fees including a 'Post Placement Fee', and 'Processing Fee' that totals close to $3,000.00. All these fees do not even include 'Travel Expenses' which can vary from $8,000-$10,000. Our goal is $15,000.00 to help give them some peace of mind financially.
November is National Adoption Month. More specifically, November 9th is #WorldAdoptionDay. World Adoption Day is a day to celebrate family and raise awareness for adoption. That is why we have chosen to share this story with you today and ask for your help as Mike and Amanda keep persevering through their journey to start a family together. Please consider donating to their cause because they truly will be the most amazing parents. Their journey has already been hard, emotionally, mentally and financially with all their attempts of infertility treatment and the beginning costs of this adoption. Let's help them bring Lucy home.
We are organizing this fundraiser to help Amanda and Mike because they truly deserve this chance of being parents. They are both amazing people with so much love to share with this child. They have put not only money, but time and worry into their infertility treatments, and the beginning costs of this adoption that we want to help them as they continue on this path to their future with Lucy. As we work to reach our goal, we are putting a fun twist on this fundraiser...

Here’s how it works...
We have selected a 520 piece puzzle; every piece symbolizing someone who will help bring Lucy home.
Each piece is a minimum donation of $20
You may choose to be one piece of the puzzle or several pieces of the puzzle.
Your name will be written on the back of each piece you represent.
After the puzzle is completed, they will frame the puzzle with glass on both sides and hang it in Lucy’s room. This will be a wonderful keepsake for Amanda, Mike, and Lucy to look back on and see who helped bring them together as a family.
The puzzle we have chosen for this fundraiser is of a pink Lotus flower. It is a sacred Chinese flower often referred to as a symbol of beauty, strength, and grace. The strong stem's connection to the flower represents an eternal, unbreakable bond. It was chosen to remind us that our relationships and shared hearts are the key to happiness. As Amanda and Mike open their hearts and share their lives with this child, we thought this would a beautiful representation of this part of their journey.
