Texas A&M Student Mithil Pagar fights for life

This is Mithil Pagar (Age 25) who is a student at Texas A&M, College station.

With dreams in his eyes for a better future, Mithil arrived in the US from India on Aug 18, 2022, to do his Master's in Industrial Engg. As fate would have it, just a month after his arrival Mithil had a freak accident while playing cricket and fractured his femur. He had his surgery on Oct 8th, 2022 at College Station and was recovering well. He did receive blood thinner shots as part of his treatment and his doctors were sure that he would be back to normal by December. On Nov 4th, Mithil suddenly suffered a severe cardiac arrest and fainted while at his apartment. His roommates called 911 and gave him CPR until the paramedics arrived. On Nov 5th Mithil was airlifted to Baylor St Luke's medical center, Houston. Apparently, some blood clots were formed in Mithil's legs which doctors say is extremely rare but a possibility after surgery. This blood clot got stuck in Mithil's heart, causing cardiac arrest, and depriving his brain of oxygen for more than 10 minutes. Mithil was put on a ventilator by the doctors. Mithil's other parameters like cardiac, pulmonary, and renal are getting near normal but neurologically he is yet to wake up. Mithil's MRI/CT scan shows injury to the brain which has led to his comatose condition. Since other areas of his brain are not affected doctors are very hopeful that Mithil will wake up. But doctors cannot predict when he would wake up. Mithil is yet to respond to any verbal commands from the doctors. As per the neurologist, Mithil may have issues with his motor skills and vision post-recovery but unless Mithil wakes up they cannot predict things with surety. Mithil has to be shifted to the rehabilitation center once he wakes up. Mithil is currently on student health insurance and his medical expenses are piling up each day. Mithil's brother Shashank is here from India to be by Mithil's side.

Mithil is a very friendly and caring kid. He is compassionate and always ensures that he does not cause any trouble for anyone. The family is suffering through a very rough time. We need your support to help Mithil and his family. The road to Mithil's recovery and rehabilitation is a long one. The family would be grateful for your generous support. All the funds collected will be handed over to Mithil's family and used for Mithil's medical purposes and to get a medical ambulance to take Mithil back to India for his long rehabilitation process.

We will be collecting funds for Mithil in Auroveda. Auroveda Operating Foundation Charitable Trust https://auroveda.org/ is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
This allows you to claim Tax-deduction on your donations in the US. EIN number is 41-6570474. 100% of the proceeds that will be received in Auroveda will go for Mithil's medical treatment. We will share the entire detail for transparency.

Our friends Achalesh Amar, Hema Reddy Rachmale, Mayuri Naik, Amit Patil, Priyanka Aher, Rohini Patil and Sachin Chitlangia are fundraising on behalf of Mithil and his family.

Thank you for your generous donation. Let's All Save Mithil!
