<div>Hi hello, maybe you saw my campaign to help me move out of a mold infested and unsafe home last year, and now you’re wondering what happened, well buckle up for a rough ride :

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>After leaving that apartment and an abusive situation, my friend and I stayed at an airbnb from october to january. We had applied to affordable housing in the city and were both on waitlists while we job hunted. I did get a remote contract job as a certified foreign language medical interpreter, however my friend (Adrian) had no such luck. He eventually gave up on Boston — since there were too many barriers to get them set up with social safety nets and they wanted to avoid ending up at a shelter for fear of contracting covid — moving back to Portland after finding an affordable room in a covid safe house.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I considered making that move myself, but since I’m a resident alien going through the naturalization process I couldn’t and still can’t leave the state in which I currently live. After much panicking and getting approved for housing i couldn’t afford and still no word from the places within my financial reach, I decided to accept a relative’s offer to stay in a room at her house 1 hour from the city.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Made that move january 3rd, and been here since. However now what was supposed to be a free place to sleep while i wait for my naturalization interview — and work to save up enough money to make whatever move i must make — I’ve been told i have to pay a certain amount of rent i wasn’t accounting for, that on top of my monthly bills and the fact that i’m disabled significantly reduces my ability to save money as fast as i need it.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>My current residence visa expires April of 2025, and with the new administration there’s a significant possibility that my citizenship application won’t be approved, since i’m both a trans and African disabled immigrant. If it’s approved i might try moving to Boston again or maybe another more affordable queer and migrant safe state, although those seem scarce these days. And if not i’ll have to leave the country, but either way I’ll need money to start my life again.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I’ve been questioning whether I should make this fundraiser for whatever those expenses may be come March, however after 25 days of emotional distress, domestic discomfort / toxic queerphobic environment , financial stress and anxiety, with the added rent on top of my monthly basic bills and needs, I know it’s unrealistic to expect that i’ll save that amount in the next 8 weeks.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>So to avoid more panicking and asking for help when it’s almost too late like last year, i’m making this fundraiser now. to give myself enough time to raise the amount i need, with the needed space and peace of mind everyone deserves.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>All the money raised in my previous fundraiser paid for 3 months of absurdly expensive housing in Boston, Adrian’s flight from Portland to Boston, later from Boston to Portland plus subsequent relocation and settling expenses.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>So the goal amount i have set right now is an estimate of what i’ll need to cover go fund me fees, relocation and moving expenses — which will likely include an international flight — plus 3 months of rent payments within my budget.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Achieving this goal also puts me closer to gender affirming care wherever i end up moving to in april, because i won’t have to worry about basic survival right away and actually take the necessary steps needed to medically transition.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>If you got to this part of my statement, thank you for reading my words and cry for help! I hope you’re able to at least share and if possible donate too, so i can get my life back together. I’ve never been so close to it, yet it’s still so far when i look at the monetary gap between the now and the doing well version of me.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Have a blessed day, i hope the kindness you show me now is returned to you if ever needed.
