As many of you know, I recently ended an 8 year long relationship and had to move out of our home. I applied for several apartments and bought a bus ticket to New York, as many of my friends there offered me a place to crash and some space to clear my head. While here, I found out that I was approved for an apartment back home and will be moving in at the end of August, which is very exciting, but money has become tight and things are pretty chaotic.

Unfortunately, while staying with a friend here in New York, her basement flooded, ruining many of my things. This includes medications, drink mixes that I need for my chronic illness, expensive face and hair products, and most importantly, my laptop.

My laptop is my livelihood. In addition to losing many sentimental family photos, pieces of work, and important documents, I am now unable to work, as I am a freelance writer. Money was already going to be incredibly tight, but after the flood, I am unable to work and have incurred these new costs that I simply cannot afford.

The longer I can't work, the broker I get. Anything you can give will help, or even just sharing this is extremely appreciated. Thank you so much.
