First step of surgery was November 13th. Now for 2 years of follow up.
Surgery was 1) Wide Local Excision with the romoval of the tumor 2) Lymphatic Mapping 3) Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy on Lymph Nodes (to see if and how much it has or has not spread). .
We still so desperatly need your help. The bills are enormous but we have put a dent in it.
Thank you everyone. I have no words that could possibly thank you all for everything you have done. We are still needing your help and are faced with an uphill battle trying to cover this. I truly do not know how to thank everyone. You have opened your hearts in ways that I am truly overwhelmed by.
Original Post: Well, this is probably one of the hardest things I've had to comprehend in a long time. My Dad has a advanced Melanoma. It is in the later stage and the doctors said that he needs surgery as soon as possible. It is a very aggresive form and needs the surgery before it spreads throughout the lymph nodes. Doctors are urging surgery as soon as possible.
It is treatable but if he doesn’t get the surgery it is terminal.
Anyone who knows someone with cancer or has done research into how much treatments cost know that it is ridiculously expensive. My dad has a very positive outlook on this whole situation and he has had a postitive effect on so many people including me. Now it's my time to help him.
With all of us by his side, Wife (Vivian Freeman), 4 Children (Christopher Freeman, Elyse Bonner, Lauren Behrens, Ashley Meyer) and 5 grand daughters (Makenna, Melany, Maizy, Riley, Sadie). We need your help Please.
The initial surgery and treatment is estimated at $70,000 to $85,000 but anything will help. I'm starting this so we hopefully will be able to get his Surgery as soon as possible. He deserves the best treatment. I want to help make that happen but I can't do it on my own unfortunately. The goal I put is just the beginning, but the surgery is the most important and get us more time to find other options. But absolutely anything helps and is GREATLY GREATLY appreciated.
