Help Alisha Treat Metastatic Lung Cancer

Hi, I’m Alisha and I’ve been a member of the community in Shepherdstown for many years. I am only 36 years old and was recently diagnosed with stage metastatic lung cancer that had spread to my liver and bones.

 

I've been treated with chemotherapy and a medication specifically designed to manage the genetic mutation driving my origin cancer. I see an oncologist, pulmonologist, general practitioner, palliative care doctor and nurse, and a therapist. I'm in the hospital less than I was in the beginning, but I maintain a lot of medications. 

 

My shelf life is limited, but I still want to stay alive if I can, for as long as I can. I thought I was going to finally get my degree, create a different kind of life, maybe fall in love and get married, but it looks like I won’t have time for all that.

 

If you can, I hope you’ll help me make the most time for myself that I can. Thank you. I will make relevant updates here and possibly pass the torch to a friend if I get too sick. I'm trying to continue treatment, take the time off that I need, and travel and have fulfilling experiences now that I have so much less time than I thought-- so donations could also be applied to my ongoing bills, hospital and medical treatment bills, other costs of living, and if there is enough, travel and experiences.

This says it's on behalf of my father, Mark, and he is a beneficiary in the sense that we both have access to the same account to ensure my bills are paid and affairs managed should my health take a sudden left turn or require hospitalization, he can see to the care of these things.
