My name is Rita Christopher and I live in the USA. I’ve created this gofundme to help my cousin, Aline Keshishian, who is one of the many injured victims of the horrific Beirut explosion.
While at work, the impact of the explosion caused her body to fly and break her hip upon landing. She spent the past 2 days and nights in the hospital getting morphine to manage her pain and was operated on for 4 hours today.
The good news is that the surgery was a success, but the doctors also say her road to physical recovery and mobilization will take months, if not longer. And that’s not even taking into account the psychological wounds of experiencing so much bloodshed and destruction.
I love my cousin. She is a beautiful woman inside and out. She is one of the most hard working and selfless people I know, despite her hard life as a single working woman and as the sole caretaker of her ailing mother.
She’s the type of person who’s always willing to help others, but never asks for help for herself. She does not know that I am trying to raise money for her, but I know she would be touched by any support we can offer.
No donation is too small, and it would go a long way to help her focus on her recovery, given that the building she lives in doesn’t have a working elevator. It would also go toward hiring a caretaker who can tend to her wounds and also take care of her mother in these trying times.
