I am in the middle of a very frustrating bureaucratic
situation at the moment. My student account has been put on hold because I have owed Sarah Lawrence College $4,000 since March. Because my account is on hold, I am unable to receive a copy of my transcript. Unfortunately, I cannot renew my scholarships and pay off this balance without a copy of my final transcript. In short, I can't get my transcript because I have to pay off my balance and I can't pay off my balance because I can't get my transcript. If this balance is not payed off, I will not be allowed to register for classes in the upcoming year. I am asking for an additional $2,000 to cover the cost not covered by my financial aid package and outside scholarships. Sarah Lawrence's cost of attendance is $71,000 a year and I have to have this cost paid off by move-in day (August 26th). I am a very hard working student and maintained a 3.5 GPA in my first year of college while being an active member of the Muslim Student Association, QPOC (Sarah Lawrence College's affinity group for queer people of color), and Harambee (Sarah Lawrence College's Black student union). I value the education that I am receiving very highly and would love to finish my college career at this institution. Please help anyway you can!
