Help Alexie Family - Winter House Fire

With permission from the family, we would like to ask for prayers and donations for the Alexie House Fire. See below for more ways to help the Alexie family & their clothing sizes.

 

On the evening of December 4th, 2021 at 7:30PM, Nunapitchuk, Alaska suffered a devastating fire to Willie & Alice Alexie's house they lived in for 15 years. The Alexie's have children & their names are Kenyon, Denisha, Mackenzie, and Avery. Immediate donations are needed for funds to replace all their belongings they need including clothing, essential items, winter gear and more. Right now we are in the winter months & the temperatures in Nunapitchuk have been in the negatives, so anything helps!

Side note for those that are not familiar with small rural villages: Nunapitchuk also doesn't have full running water or an emergency fire department so when the house caught on fire, there wasn't much for them to do but keep the fire contained. Nunapitchuk is about 30 miles out of Bethel, Alaska & has a population of about 600 people. Resources are scarce & to get things in/out of Nunapitchuk we have to send things through freight/mail/plane. There are no roads connecting Nunapitchuk to other surrounding villages, it is a small community you can get to by plane or boat in the summer & plane or truck in the winter (uses rivers as ice roads weather permitting.) There are board walks in Nunapitchuk as you can see from photos above but no roads since the land is tundra & is surrounded by water.
