My name is Alexi, I'm approximately 3.5 years of age. I was found in an unfinished building in Iran, unable to move. When I was taken to the vet, I had some internal bleeding, a fever, blood in my feces and couldn't move. I have luckily been in the states area since July 5th, 2018, one year after I was found in Iran. One of my vets thinks it's very likely that someone tried to hang me, due to the shape, the severity and depth of my damaged nerves, which was shown through an MRI. We found out I have a ruptured C5/C6 disc. I came to the states with complete paralysis. After six months, my rear legs started to wake up, and I'm becoming stronger each month. I am in Washington State with the help of Loved at Last Dog Rescue.
My neck is strong and I'm working on holding it up for longer periods of time. While I'm making improvements, I can't get up to a sit, stand or walk on my own. I so badly want to play and run like other dogs. I love to sniff outside while I lay on my bed, or on my human lap. I also love my foster sister, Gypsy. But I'd love to do so much more!
Alexi needs to continue therapy, and on going vet appointments which provide laser, acupuncture, osteopathy and herbs. All of this helps his legs and establishing connections in his nervous system.
All of the money raised goes directly towards the cost of therapy and medical expenses.
