My name is Alexandra Whitney Halaby and I am a freelance political communications consultant. I underwent major spinal surgery on February 20, 2019 at St Louis University Hospital. The procedure was quite complicated the incision opened my back between my shoulder blades all the way to my coccyx. I was hospitalized 10 days unable to do anything for myself!
After a few weeks of recuperating from the surgery at home, I began leg training physical therapy and am having therapy twice a week. It hurts! My physical therapy will last at least 50 weeks and then my doctor will begin a new therapy on my back to eradicate any disease which may still remain.
Needless to say: This has been such a difficult time!
What I am asking is for small donations from friends. If I have ever written anything that brought you joy or information; or if I've helped you better understand the complicated issues through my work, a small financial gift would help. While down I will still have bills coming in and sadly, as a freelancer and volunteer, I have exhausted my savings over the past few months while ill.
If you are unable to send a small gift, please send my appeal along to others who may be in a position to help.
The anxiety about my illness and surgery is compounded by not being able to pay my household bills.
I wish to thank you for what you can give or for sharing my request. It has been a difficult time around here, but I am a private person and didn't want to share my plight. Now, I am asking for help.
Thank you, again!
