Help Alderwood Santa Cruz Employees

In light of the recent events that have transpired at Alderwood Santa Cruz, nearly two dozen employees have been displaced from work. This GoFundMe has been established with the intent of raising money to help Alderwood employees with financial expenses.
Last week, a group of white diners shouted racial and homophobic slurs at an Alderwood chef, who is a person of color, before attacking him physically. The chef acted in self-defense and was subsequently fired days later. As of Tuesday, June 30th, the owner has closed the business, until further notice, leaving most employees out of work.
We are raising money with the intent of covering at least one month of expenses for Alderwood Santa Cruz employees while we look for new work, or process unemployment. Most employees in the restaurant industry live paycheck to paycheck and so we are hoping to raise all the money we can as soon as possible.
In order to redress this absence of justice, we endeavor to aid those affected in the greatest capacity possible. In an effort to support racial diversity in the workplace, we would like to donate 15% of all funds raised to RaceForward.org
