Hello to All My Friends and Family,
I know you are all aware of the hurricanes that we have had this last few months and how it has affected many US states. Hurricanes Irma and Maria has gone through to destroy much of the northeastern Caribbean islands.
It's my need to help my Family and their Community who live in Puerto Rico that has brought me to reach out to you. For many years I have been involved with fundraising efforts on others’ behalf. This time I’m trying to raise funds to assist those that have been affected by these hurricanes in my home island of Puerto Rico.
I have been contacted by many, inquiring as to how they can help my cause. Recently, I was able to make contact with my sister, whom updated me on their current situation.
My home town of Salinas, was hit pretty hard and many houses and businesses near the ocean has been completely destroyed by the hurricanes, including my own families’ homes, personal items and businesses. The limited resources of gas, electricity, food, and water is a great concern for those in the area.
However, with the encouragement of close friends, I have resigned to reach out to everyone and let them know that my plans are to collect monetary funds so that when travel is allowed, I can go back to my home town and access the current situation and give them survival basic supplies, such as food, water, gas, personal care supplies.
In additiona, I will assist my family and the community by purchasing materials for rebuilding, repairing homes and businesses.
