<div>Catastrophe in Jamaica: Hurricane Melissa Erased My Mother's Life

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>My name is Akeen, and I'm an active member of the U.S. Army. I'm reaching out because <strong>Hurricane Melissa didn't just damage my mother's house in Jamaica—it annihilated it.</strong>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>This home wasn't just a building; it was my mother's entire world. It was the safe harbor that hosted every holiday, every memory, and anchored our family for decades. Now, that history, that safety, is gone.

</div>

</div>

<div>The Picture of Devastation

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>When we finally saw the property, the sight was a punch to the gut. The house—roof, walls, windows—had been violently reduced to splintered wood and concrete dust.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>In the middle of that field of rubble, only two things remain standing: a washing machine and a refrigerator.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>They are surreal, silent monuments to the life that was violently swept away. My mother has lost absolutely everything. Her foundation is gone.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Amidst this complete loss, we hold tight to one profound relief: everyone is safe. We are eternally grateful that no one in the household lost their life. That is the only comfort in this devastation.

</div>

<div>Help Us Rebuild Her Anchor

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>My mother is facing the impossible task of starting over from scratch. There is no easy insurance claim here—only the devastation of a Category 5 hurricane.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>We need to raise $50,000 to fund the immediate debris removal and begin laying the foundation for a new, strong, hurricane-resilient structure.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Your donation is not a handout; it is the material we need to restore her dignity and give my mother a roof over her head again.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>$50 helps clear a patch of debris.</strong>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>$250 purchases essential lumber for the new frame.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>$500 helps secure a stronger, safer roof design.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Please, help us turn this pile of rubble back into a home. Share this story and be the strength we need right now.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

</div>
