My dad, Benerando, is 77 years old and has always been the heart of our family and community. From a young age, he worked hard to support his siblings, and his dedication never stopped. After years of working on farms in Mexico and then in construction in the US, he found his true calling as a chef. Benerando is known for his kindness, generosity, and the deep love he has for his six children, fourteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He’s always been there for friends and family, keeping in touch and offering support whenever needed. Now retired, he enjoys gardening, fishing, dancing, and spending time with my mom, living life to the fullest until this recent medical crisis changed everything. 
 
 
 At the beginning of the month, Benerando was hospitalized with pneumonia. During his treatment, doctors discovered his gallbladder was dangerously swollen and performed emergency surgery. Complications led to sepsis and two heart attacks, one of which left him unresponsive for 28 minutes. Miraculously, he came back to us, but he has remained in the hospital, facing more surgeries and setbacks, including another bout of pneumonia and a medically induced coma. He now needs to be airlifted from Mexico to the US to access an ECMO machine, which is critical for his survival. The only way to do this is with a specialized air ambulance equipped with ECMO and a medical team. 
 
 
 We are raising funds to cover the urgent air ambulance, ongoing hospital bills, and the recovery expenses Benerando will face when he comes home.  A principios de mes, Benerando fue hospitalizado por neumonía. Durante su tratamiento, los médicos descubrieron que su vesícula biliar estaba peligrosamente inflamada y le practicaron una cirugía de urgencia. Las complicaciones le provocaron una sepsis y dos infartos, uno de los cuales le dejó inconsciente durante 28 minutos. Milagrosamente, volvió con nosotros, pero ha permanecido en el hospital, enfrentándose a más cirugías y contratiempos, incluyendo otro episodio de neumonía y un coma inducido médicamente. Ahora necesita ser trasladado en avión desde México a los Estados Unidos para acceder a una máquina ECMO, que es fundamental para su supervivencia.
