<div>Just before Thanksgiving, my best friend Aimee found a lump in her breast. By Christmas, she received the life-altering diagnosis: Stage 2 Triple Negative Breast Cancer — one of the most aggressive and difficult types to treat.

<div>Since then, Aimee has faced every moment of this journey with quiet strength and determination. She’s undergoing aggressive chemotherapy to shrink the tumor before a double mastectomy. She’s gone neutropenic several times and now has to make up to four trips a week to the cancer center for treatments, blood transfusions, and growth factor injections.

<div>What most people don’t see is how hard it’s been just getting there. Aimee’s car is old and barely holding on. The constant driving has pushed it past its limits — it’s broken down multiple times and left her stranded more than once. Still, she pushes through, because that’s who she is.

<div>Aimee is fiercely independent — almost to a fault. She would never ask for help herself, which is why I’m asking on her behalf.
