My name is Jesse and I am the wife to Mitchell Meir and Daughter-in-law to Kirk Meir.
On February 11th at 9:05pm, Kirk lost his battle to Advanced stage 4 lung cancer, less than a year after finding out his diagnosis. He fought hard and refused to give up hope, from chemo to natural remedies to clinical trials, we explored all options. Kirk never smoked a day in his life. He was an honest and amazing man who loved deeply. He raised the most amazing man in the world and knew what it meant to work hard and play hard. He could teach you how to work on just about anything and would give the shirt off of his back to help you.
Kirk worked, even on his toughest days with cancer and refused to let it affect his sarcasm or work ethic.
I remember one night while having dinner, I observed Kirk and Mitchell watching football, the Vikings game was on and if you know the Meir men, yooouuu knooooowwwww where I am about to go with this....... He was really sick that day, having trouble breathing because of the fluid on his lungs and we had to keep a trash can close by. Despite how he was feeling, he still managed to find enough energy to let the ref in the game know, it was a bad call.
He will live on through his wife, Denise, his son Mitchell and grandson Stetson, granddaughter Makayla and dog Oden.
We are asking for help for funeral/cremation expenses and to help lift the financial burden for his wife, Denise, while she navigates this life without her husband. I don't think you can ever prepare yourself for losing your spouse or parent.
