[About My Family – Ahmed & Diaa]

My name is Ahmed, I’m 33 years old, and I’m married to Diaa, who is 30.

We have four children: Sarah (11), Mohammed (9), Omar (4), and our baby girl Ayat, who is just 3 months old.

We live in the northern Gaza Strip, east of Gaza City. Since the war began, we’ve been displaced nine times, each time facing heavy bombardment, lack of food, and undrinkable water

For months, we survived on bread made from animal feed and unsafe water.

Our son Omar was born with cysts on his right kidney. He needs clean mineral water, nutritious food, and regular medical care. His hospital, Al-Rantisi, was bombed on October 8th and has been out of service ever since.

For over a year and a half, Omar has had no treatment or proper nutrition

Our children haven’t had milk, yogurt, eggs, or fresh produce in over 18 months.

Their childhood is fading under the weight of war and hunger.

When the war started, I risked my life walking miles at night under airstrikes to places like Kuwait and Al-Nabulsi roundabouts to wait for flour trucks areas often hit by massacres.

I had no choice ,I had to feed my family

We’ve lost all sources of income

Diaa can no longer work online as a translator and content writer prices are beyond reach, and aid no longer arrives

We live with our extended family eight households, over 70 people, mostly children. There’s no food, no water, and no hope without help

During the war, I also lost my mother to pancreatic cancer

She died because there was no access to medical care my children still mourn her loss.

During a 40-day ceasefire,Allah blessed us with baby Ayat but the war returned stronger than before food disappeared, the borders were sealed, and prices exploded.

We fled our home under heavy bombing and drone fire

Two days later, our neighbor’s house was bombed my cousin, his wife, and their children were killed our home was also damaged in the strike
