I simply placed the amount at $5,000 since the original goal was $30,000 anyway. This is money for feed Afsheen and her brother and to help with any other accommodation expenses. Afsheen Kumbar is 13 years old and lives in Mithi.
Her neck is severely bent, and has been since she was a baby. As the family have not been able to afford medical treatment, we do not know the reason for her bent neck, however we think it is a muscular disorder that was triggered by an injury when she was a baby.
Afsheen is a positive and loving girl, but she faces many struggles. It is hard for her to eat independently, walk and she has trouble using the toilet. She is unable to go to school or help with chores around the house. Afsheen lives in constant pain but still manages to make those around her smile with her positive attitude and loving approach to those around her.
Her family are unable to pay for surgery to help Afsheen. Unfortunately her father died of cancer, forcing them to live on their mother Jameelan's salary of £60 ($74) a year while she works as domestic help. The funds raised will be used to fly Afsheen to India to receive surgery by one of the world's top specialists. The doctor has reviewed Afsheen’s case and agreed to help her. Afsheen is now 13 years old and still needs funds raised for treatment!
Withdrawals have started & transfers are made to the Kumbar family through Western Union. $10,000 USD have been sent to the family from the donations. Please note that banks in Pakistan can only take up to $3000 per transfer. If a personal donation is preferred, please contact the family via instagram for banking information. However, the best way to support is to donate to the fundraiser. The funds raised will be used to fly Afsheen to India to receive surgery by one of the world's top specialists. Funds will cover travel, treatment, accommodation and after care.
