Help AFI Become a Non-Profit

In 2017, two New York high school students lamented that there were no opportunities for their classmates to showcase their musical talents and a lacking overall music scene. They finally decided to fix this issue themselves and came together with the goal of creating an open mic event. Through their planning, they concluded that they could combine this event with their wish to help their community by donating proceeds to various charities. With this decision, Artists for Impact (AFI) was born.
To date, Artists for Impact has held events to benefit Futbol for Kids, The LOFT: LGBT Community Community Center, Sad Girls Club, Girls Rock! DC, and Dwell DC, raising about $2500 in total through their admission prices of $7-10. AFI is also working to create a collective of passionate visual and performing artists as well as a blog on their website to highlight other initiatives, causes, and issues concerning our communities and peers.
With our next steps as an organization, we need your help! To be able to sustain AFI, we need to raise money so we can register as a non-profit. There are initial fees of $250 to incorporate and more finances that follow when it comes to registering as a 501c3! As two high school seniors getting ready to head to college, we do not have the means to fund it ourselves. Any donation is extremely appreciated! We are excited for the new horizons registering as an official non-profit would open for us.
