Help Adopt A Cat Afford Sudden Overcrowding
Hello everyone,
We are Adopt A Cat. A local nonprofit 501(c)(3) cat sanctuary saving the homeless kitties of Houston, Texas and we have decided to officially start a new fundraising campaign to better help with our current situation.
At this moment Adopt A Cat is way over capacity. During this unbearable Texas heat, we have had over 20 kitties abandoned on our property within one week. It has become extremely difficult for us and the situation keeps getting worse. Just today (8/2/2023) we had three sick kitties left to us under direct sunlight in the middle of the day.
We simply cannot just turn away these poor kitties as they have nowhere else to go. We are their last chance. Here at AAC, we typically only keep new intakes, sick cats, kittens, or cats needing their own space in cages until they receive medical care or are overall ready to join the general population. As a result, all of our extra cages are now fully occupied and we are also in desperate need of fosters. For the time being, we are all they've got and it's time to do our part.
This situation has proven to take a toll on us from every angle, especially financially. All these new intakes will require medical care, food, housing and everything else necessary to properly care for them. Not to mention the costs for all the kitties already at our facility and the general costs to keep our doors open. Right now, funds are dangerously low. Especially with the delay we struggled with as a result of our recent PayPal breach. We lost so much financial support during that time and once again we are hit with a new challenge as we are barely recuperating. Still, we want to power through and overcome this situation and save these kitties. They deserve a chance at a good life and we will try to give them just that.

As a nonprofit, we fully depend on the publics generosity to do our life-saving work. While many of you thank us for our work, we feel we must say we owe our supporters the majority of the credit. Without your support, we wouldn't be where we are today.
