Help Ace's Recovery

On January 30th a good friend of mine, Logan, got a call no one with a pet in their family ever wants to get: his dog Ace had been attacked, and it was bad. So far they think a large cat (mountain lion maybe) did the damage, but it left Ace in a bad state, and now Ace is fighting the good fight. Things are looking good, he is being helped by an amazing team at the Vet Health Center at Kansas State University, but the costs are mounting. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated, and 100% raised will go toward helping Ace get back to 100%.

A recent update from Logan:

"Thank you everyone who has kept Ace in your thoughts and to those who have been sending positive vibes his way!

So I was able to go by and see my little buddy today after I got of work. Apparently he hadn't been moving much today (probably due to the medications they have him on), but when he heard that I had come to visit he popped right up and walked all the way down the hall to the exam room under his own power. The walk took it out of him though, and he crashed pretty hard after getting into the room. The doctors & vet student looking after him explained what all was going on. Honestly, they were talking so fast I couldn't really grasp what all they were telling me, but here is the gist of it:
There were two punctures in his esophagus that they were able to suture back together.
When they dug deeper they found a 50% tear in his trachea that had some swelling around it causing it to tear even more. They got that sutured back together which will hopefully cause it to heal.
There was also a puncture wound on the top of his neck, so they cut him open there to see if there had been any muscle damage. What they found was many of the muscles on the top of his neck, and around his esophagus & trachea had been severely damaged.
They then removed the damaged muscle & said that the healthy muscle should repair itself.
There was also a bite-looking mark on his hind end that they had to put a couple of stitches in & should have no trouble healing.
They also said that his white blood count was low, but that was more than likely due to his body fighting off infections.

Right now it is too early to tell if he will make a complete recovery, but they were optimistic of the outlook on him! We should find out more in the next 3-5 days! So continued support would be greatly appreciated!

Additional note: We did ask the doctors what they thought caused this. Both said that they had never seen any kind of trauma like this caused to a dog and it still be alive. They both ruled out any dog doing this to him. They also doubted a coyote was responsible for the attack. Based off of the marks on his hind end & where the puncture wounds were on his neck & how severe they were, the assumption is that it was a large cat."
