Help Aaron Beat Pancreatic Cancer

For anyone who has ever had the pleasure of meeting Aaron Doty he is charismatic, bright, and funny. He is extremely adored by all. He is the loving and attentive father of two beautiful little girls Addysen age 3 and Olivia age 5. He is loved and encouraged by his fiance of 9 years as well as a strong support system of family and friends. 

Aaron recently found himself not feeling well in the recent months. After quite a bit of testing and visits to the hospital, our family will face a battle ahead. Aaron was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer right before Thanksgiving. This was not the news we were hoping for. Aaron is only 44 years old and was told he is quite young for this diagnosis. 

Aaron's cancer has to be treated aggresively with a combination of surgery and chemotherapy. Aaron's team of Medical Specialists will be performing a surgery on him in the next couple of weeks called a Pancreaticoduodenectomy or Whipple Procedure. This surgery is very invasive and involves removing a portion of his stomach, the gallbladder, a portion of the common bile duct, a portion of the pancreas, and duodenum. They will then reconnect the bile duct, pancreas, and remaining intestine. Only about 20% of Pancreatic Cancer Patients are elligible for this type of surgery. After he heals from the surgery they will then be treating him with chemotherapy for 6 months.

Aaron and I are hard working and dedicated to our family. We both carry two jobs each. After hearing this news, We will be down to one job while we get Aaron through surgery and treatment.
