Help Aadi finish college in Bangladesh

Donation protected

In Australia, we take it for granted that we will complete our schooling if we so wish, but for so many in poorer countries, simple things like education can be a struggle.

Hi, my name is Jess and I'm fundraising for my friend Aadi* who is in Year 11 in Bangladesh and for the Bangladesh Association for Sustainable Development (BASD).

Aadi* would very much like to complete his HSC, but his family is very poor and cannot continue to keep sending him to school, but Aadi is adamant he will get through. With his father now sick, and his mother uneducated, and the family stuck in another lockdown, their situation has become dire very quickly.**

When Aadi first contacted me, I was not sure who to turn to for help. Rosemary Morrow, the esteemed permaculture author, told me of her work with BASD (Bangladesh Association for Sustainable Development) and recommended I look to them for sustainable solutions.

I contacted them for help for Aadi and they were able to visit him and confirm his situation. They agreed to accept donations on his behalf and work on training his community towards self-sufficiency if we could raise the funds.

With the money raised Aadi can buy his books ($50), pay school fees ($150), and get a refurbished computer ($500). Of the amount raised $300 will go toward community permaculture training via BASD, which provides locals and refugees with education on growing their own food and alternative sustainable forms of income.***

Please help us make Aadi's dreams of finishing school come true, and help his community become more resilient to disasters that are all too common in this part of the world.

Education is the cornerstone to raising whole communities out of poverty.

With the sheer number of people seeking help, it's so easy to feel overwhelmed and sometimes powerless, but we can make a difference in the life of one child, and his community . . . and perhaps this can become a model for change, for others. Won't you help make a difference to his world?

Just $10 will pay for 1 month of school fees, so every little bit helps.

Thank you so much for your support!
